Wabi Sabi 005

A 2.11 carat natural Fluorite faceted in an 8-sided step cut by artist John Bailey and installed in grey Basalt collected on the Oregon coast. This stone reflects the copper bezel in a pattern of warm color.

Fluorite derives from Latin for “flow”. It’s used in smelting iron and is the source for fluoride to make teeth and bones strong. Fluorite is associated with transformation, power, and expression.

Basalt is hardened lava – turning fire into solid rock – and the richest soil. It is a stone of courage, transformation, perseverance, and character.
